Description
Music has always been a major inspiration for me. My first experience with classical music came when my older sister was learning piano. She was very good and practiced many hours. As she became more proficient, she was given classical music to play. My favorites were Clair de Lune and Moonlight Sonata.
I used to sit and lean up against the upright piano in the living room while she played. I would close my eyes and see the colors as the music swirled around me. I knew that one day I wanted to paint those colors.
The Classical music series is the culmination of that desire.
A favorite composition by Grieg loved by so many the Peer Gynt Suite contains a piece called “Morning Mood” which inspired this painting. The peaceful grandeur of the sun rising over the spectacular Norwegian mountains is what brought this painting to life.
